Doctors at Ho Chi Minh City’s Children’s Hospital, Vietnam has successfully removed the turtle-shell-like mole from the back of a 10-year old girl after a 3-hour surgery on Monday, August 29.

The hospital’s vice director, Dao Trung Hieu, said the girl, Tran Thi Ngoc Tham of Soc Trang province, who suffers from congenital melanocytic nevus has recovered after the surgery.

He said the mole weighs 1.05 kg and measures 22 cm in diameter. After its removal, doctors covered the area with skin grafted from the girl’s thigh. Six doctors and five medical workers were involved in the surgery.
Tham’s mother, Thach Thi Da Ni, 34, said she was born with the birthmark measuring the size of “a mandarin orange”, and it has been growing over the years.
Tham quit school after being repeatedly teased by others as the “turtle-shell girl” but Ni has no money for her treatment, she said.

Mark Zuckerberg and his wife meet Pope Francis in the Vatican

Mark Zuckerberg and his wife, Priscilla Chan visited Pope Francis in the Vatican city and gifted him a model of a Facebook drone. He also gave the Pope a book about 'people using the internet in new ways'. The tech CEO said it was something he'll never forget.
'You can feel the Pope's warmth and kindness, and how deeply he cares about helping people,' he wrote on Facebook alongside pictures from the visit.

He said the drone is symbolic of an ideology he and the Pope share.
'We told him how much we admire his message of mercy and tenderness, and how he's found new ways to communicate with people of every faith around the world. We also discussed the importance of connecting people, especially in parts of the world without internet access,' Zuckerberg wrote.
The drone, called Aquila, a solar-powered aircraft the social network plans to use in order to give internet access to people in developing countries.
'Together they spoke about how to use communications technology to alleviate poverty, encourage a culture of encounter, and to communicate a message of hope, especially to the most disadvantaged,' the Vatican Press Office said in a statement.

"I've gone several months without being paid' Samson Siasia resigns from National football duty

Samson Siasia, Nigeria's Bronze winning coach at Rio 2016 has resigned from his post as head coach despite his team's heroics this summer saying he's doing so because of 'a disrespectful system'
'I have reached that point where I have to say I have had  enough, I've gone several months without getting paid, years of being derided and disrespected by the sports authorities in Nigeria but I am done already." Siasia, whose contract expires at the end of the Olympics, told BBC Sport.
It's sad that after all we went through to get to Brazil and end up winning a bronze medal, the players, coaching and backroom staff never received a 'thank you' in appreciation despite a turbulent time at the Olympics" Sisasia added.
"First we had the minister deride us for camping in Atlanta and even denied our existence as a group before the flight problems," recalled Siasia.
"Players had to embark on a strike to be heard, then the boys kept a good spirit to win an incredible medal, only to be publicly criticised for speaking to the Japanese surgeon who supported and rewarded the team for their brave spirit I've taken a deep look at everything and concluded that things need to change for us to progress as a country not just in football but our general lives.I have fulfilled my obligations as a citizen, footballer and coach; right now I do not want to be involved in the Nigerian football system anymore," said Siasia.
The NFF, already heavily criticized for their treatment of the Nigerian football teams, are yet to respond to Siasia's resignation.
Siasia is Nigeria's most decorated coach at the Olympics after winning a silver medal at the Beijing 2008 Olympics.
